Or, disconnect the bucket hoses while the bucket is supported on the ground. Raise the loader arms and then see if the bucket still moves down even when not connected to the loader valve.

When the control lever is moved to the left, it will not return to neutral by itself----either with hydraulics pressured up or dead. The schematic suggests that it is the upper spring that is stuck in a compressed mode.
