I tried an angle grinder with a flap disc, but that went VERY slowly and the disc eventually got messed up such that it wouldn't stay tight on the grinder arbor. I also tried a flat gardening hoe with a razor edge on it, without much success.

I bought this for a specific job.... I'm slowly remodeling a house I bought and was prepping to lay porcelain tile on a concrete slab. The house was built in the 60's and had vinyl tile (tested negative for asbestos) throughout. Was using grinder with light duty masonry disk to remove the adhesive and level high spots on the concrete slabs.
